{"id":7342,"date":"2026-02-03T20:07:15","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T18:07:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marxistworkersparty.net\/?p=7342"},"modified":"2026-02-03T20:07:16","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T18:07:16","slug":"nigeria-protester-shot-socialist-arrested-lagos-police-attack-rally-against-demolition-and-eviction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marxistworkersparty.net\/?p=7342","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria: Protester shot, socialist arrested \u2013 Lagos police attack rally against demolition and eviction"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hassan Taiwo Soweto, a leading member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.socialistnigeria.org\/\">Democratic Socialist Movement<\/a> (DSM, CWI in Nigeria) and spokesperson of #EndBadGovernance Movement Lagos, was arrested today at the Lagos State House of Assembly, probably with other protesters.\u00a0 This was at a protest against the unjust demolition and forced eviction of Makoko, Oworonshoki, Owode Onirin and other poor people communities in Lagos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police unleashed teargas and live bullets to forcefully disperse the peaceful protesters.
