{"id":1809,"date":"2020-07-08T11:35:35","date_gmt":"2020-07-08T09:35:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marxistworkersparty.org.za\/?page_id=1809"},"modified":"2020-07-20T15:37:09","modified_gmt":"2020-07-20T13:37:09","slug":"letter-from-the-rpc-of-the-anc-26-october-1979","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/marxistworkersparty.net\/?page_id=1809","title":{"rendered":"Letter from the RPC of the ANC (26 October 1979)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This letter was received by each of the following comrades:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paula Ensor<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>David Hemson<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Martin Legassick<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Robert Petersen<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>RE: <strong>Suspension from all ANC Activities and Units<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has come to the attention of the Regional Political Committee (RPC) that you are a signatory to a Document entitled \u201cThe Workers\u2019 Movement and Sactu \u2013 a Struggle for Marxist Policies\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After careful consideration of this Document the RPC has concluded that you have seriously breached the code of conduct governing membership of the ANC in that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"a\"><li>as you are undoubtedly aware all members are obliged to raise whatever disagreements they may have with our movement\u2019s policies within our ranks to seek the resolution of such disagreements within the established structures of our movement. This you have not done;<\/li><li>instead you, together with the other signatories, have seen it fit to attack the policies and leadership of the revolutionary alliance led by the ANC in public and have thereby sought to weaken the position of our movement among the general public at home and abroad;<\/li><li>you have therefore announced yourselves as an organised faction within our movement, with your own independent organised existence and your own political perspectives.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>In view of this the RPC suspends you forthwith from all activities and units in which you have hitherto participated and has now referred the matter to the NEC of the ANC for further consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Y.
